Personal Options Screen Field Descriptions

Feature might or might not be Available.Administrator has option of turning this feature on or off for the forum.

The following is a list of some of the standard fields on the “Personal Options” page and their corresponding definitions.

 

Field

Description

Profile Visibility

allows other users to view your profile by clicking on the View User’s Profile or Author icon.  Both icons appear in every message that you post.

 

E-mail Visibility

allows other users to see your e-mail address (your Profile Visibility must be enabled).

 

Receive Private Messages Feature might or might not be Available.

allows other users to send you private messages using FuseTalk’s private messaging module.

 

Allow Others to Rate You Feature might or might not be Available.

allows others to rate you as a member, based on your posted messages, on a scale of 1 to 10.

 

Enable Sidebar Menu Feature might or might not be Available.

allows you to put a left hand menu with quick links to various items (buddy list, categories etc).

 

Block User Signatures Feature might or might not be Available.

allows you to hide all signatures from other users within the messages.

 

Disable Private Topics Feature might or might not be Available.

allows you to hide and not participate in any Private Topics that others have joined you to participate in.

 

Message Display Order

allows you to specify if you would like to see the messages within a topic in ascending or descending order.

 

Days back to view topics forFeature might or might not be Available.

specifies the number of days back you wish to view topics in the forum.

 

Topics Per Page Feature might or might not be Available.

indicates the number of topics in a category that you want to have displayed per page.

 

Default Topic View

indicates the default view in which you view your messages in.  

 

Messages Per Page Feature might or might not be Available.

indicate the number of messages in a topic that you want to have displayed per page.

 

Color Themes Feature might or might not be Available.

indicate the color theme in which you want the forum to be viewed.

 

Discussion Interface Type Feature might or might not be Available.

standard mode will remove all graphics, such as emotion icons and [img] tags, from the messages. Some functionality icons will remain.

 

Subscription Delivery Feature might or might not be Available.

allows you to receive your topic subscriptions by the private message system or e-mail. Note: If you select “Private Messages”, private messages must be enabled in your profile.

 

Editor Type Feature might or might not be Available.

allows you to specify the editor you wish to use when managing messages.  A WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) is a program that uses a graphical interface.

 

Please choose your preferred language

if multiple language packs are installed, you can choose which language you would like your forum interface to use.

 

Category Blocking Feature might or might not be Available.

from the list of categories to which you have access, highlight those categories that you want to hide.  Typically, these are categories that do not interest you.

 

Category Subscriptions Feature might or might not be Available.

from the list of categories to which you have access, highlight those categories to which you want to subscribe.  In each instance that a new message is submitted to a selected category, you will be notified through your choice of Subscription Delivery.

 

Category Digest

from the list of categories to which you have subscribed (refer to your selection under Category Subscriptions), select those categories to which you want to receive only one notification per day of any new messages.
