You are unable to send email from Windows Mail on Windows Vista. The emails will go into your Outbox, and will not go out. Pressing send/receive email brings new email in, but does not send any email out.
Additionally Windows Mail does not give you any error message that the email could not be sent. In some cases you may not be able to delete emails from your outbox.
Your Windows Mail database is corrupt, and is unable to read one or more emails pending to be sent. Instead of producing an error message Windows mail simply stops attempting to send the emails.
Microsoft as recognized that this is an issue with Windows Mail and has supplied a patch to resolve the issue. It may be downloaded at their website:
This update does not require a restart of the computer, only the Windows Mail program.
