Problem Description:

Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 Freezes Shortly after startup



Cause of the Problem:

Left over portions of previous anti virus software or a piece of malware will fight with Trend Micro causing the system to freeze.

Resolution/Fix:

Start the computer in safe mode and run a virus/spyware/root kit scan on the computer.

Afterwards make sure that all traces of previous anti virus software is removed.

If you are running the Symantic Anti-Virus product then you will need to run the nonav Utility.


Additional Removal Tools will be posted as they become available. Note that some products can only be uninstalled through their Add/Remove programs entry in the control panel.
